Donkeys and Friends — Therapeutic Donkey Walks in São Miguel

Donkeys and Friends was born from an unlikely friendship and a shared belief in the healing power of animals. Led by Luís “Vidinha” and Bethany Joy, this project is rooted in rescue, patience, and deep respect for donkeys and their role in the landscape of São Miguel. Each experience invites guests to slow down and walk alongside rescued donkeys, forming quiet connections built on trust, care, and presence. This isn’t entertainment or performance — it’s about empathy, recovery, laughter, and the simple grounding act of moving through nature with animals who have their own stories of resilience.
